The "Where Bloggers Create" tour that began yesterday was so much fun. After I’d seen everyone’s space, I had the urge to rearrange my garden room bookshelves, put all the books back up, and dust. Whew! The dust bunnies! But it makes me take a look at books I have that I’ve forgotten about and haven’t read yet. Note to self: Read more books before you buy new ones! (more…)

This gorgeous studio is from Beth who blogs at Whimsies And Words. Can you just imagine sitting down in this space? All the creativity that would ooze from your every pore? I particularly love the cigar boxes. (She did a post about that awhile ago.) Not to mention that Beth makes the most adorable and whimsical pincushions! I have one right here next to my desk. It’s little fabric cupcakes decorated oh, so cute! And they came as a trio in a sweet little dish. (more…)

I’m about to have my second large cup of coffee for the day (and it’s just two o’clock!). So I feel the guilt I would think alcoholics are prone to when contemplating that second drink of the day. (Caffeine is one of my very best friends! A big red mug, two packets of Splenda sweetener please, a little half and half, and then to top it off for us sweet-toothed women with growing mid-sections, a little flavored Coffee Mate (sugar-free, naturally.) This is where I blog. Yeah, I know it’s cluttered. Needs some work. But remember, it is a garden room with outdoor siding on the walls! I need to move those boxes of fabric down below. You can see the pillow under my computer desk where Abigail and Charlie Ross snooze while Mama’s blogging and reading blogs. And there’s usually a cat up there scattering cat hair. (Clyde likes to get right smack in front of the computer screen and sit there, so I can’t see anything.) But it’s "my" main space. And it ain’t supposed to be perfect. (more…)

I know this is a rather strange photo above. It is me looking through a set of windchimes in my yard. I had a thought while I was framing it. These snapshots are absentminded that I take almost daily. They are random. But sometimes they teach you something you just need to know. This shot, once I had it in the camera frame, said, “When you’re looking at something in life, note what’s in the background. Because that is part of the story. Note the ugly carpet, the tub/shower that’s really tall and isn’t even a jacuzzi. Why do builders put carpet in bathrooms, and tall tubs that you hit your shins on when entering and exiting, I wonder? (more…)
