Everywhere I look this Sunday morning, I am seeing blue.

As you can see the geranium is still putting out blooms.

Yesterday at Blue Moon Nursery I picked up these tiny pansy flowers. It was cold and rainy, and I was, for the first time in memory, the only person outside on the grounds. Right as I started to pick up a few small pots of these little lovelies, the rain came pouring down with a vengeance. I was soaked. But I couldn’t leave empty-handed after I drove all the way out there. (more…)

Solitude And Thanks

Today, Thanksgiving, I am thankful for so many things. For my sunny gardens, which have given me much joy all day as I worked quietly amongst the the plants and flowers. Arranging a space for my new birdbath. Potting plants. Feeling the sun warm on my shoulders. The dogs lying about the pathways, watching me, sleepy and content. (more…)

This is what got done today. Robert is beginning to stand back and envision his finished project. He folds his arms and spins ideas off the top of his head for landscaping, painting, bringing it all together for a serene setting. “Maybe a purple Martin house that resembles this one…” he ponders. The pansies continue to delight. I just can’t stop taking photos of these cute perky little flowers.

It rained last night, as you can see on the leaves above. Abi won’t go out if it is remotely wet outside. She doesn’t like to get her feet wet. Charlie, being male I suppose, does not care about such things. Isn’t it funny the unique little personalities our pets form? (more…)
